iTEC

Message from Directors

Welcome to iTEC!

With dedicated services of Vice Chancellor Karoli Njau of Nelson-Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), Director Herb Rhee of iTEC Tanzania and all members of over 30 participating organizations of iTEC, we have successfully launched the center in April 2017 based at NM-AIST, Arusha. To achieve the ultimate goal of iTEC- to improve the quality of the life of villagers in rural areas of Tanzania-we will develop and implement five main activities;
1) Renewable Energy, 2) Health/Vaccination, 3) Agriculture/Water, 4) Education and 5) Business/Startup.

We appreciate the Ministry of Science and ICT and National Research Foundation of South Korea for funding, Seoul National University and NM-AIST for operation of ITEC. Through the iTEC, we would like to develop the best model villages of Africa in Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions together with brothers and sisters from Tanzania, Korea, and more countries. This will be challenging, but dedicated brothers and sisters who share the vision together will make it possible.

Besides the official government funded projects, we will foster more collaboration and networking activities such as hosting ICES (International Conference on Energy and Sustainability), S.M.A.R.T. (Startup Mission on Art/design, Responsibility and Technology) competition and conference, as well as organizing Global Solar Volunteer Corps and exchanging faculty and students. We always welcome your constructive suggestions and participation to our activity.

Asante Sana,
